The ANA/Kalakaua Center is a major commercial retrofit of an existing abandoned structure located at a prominent Waikiki site. The 238,859 square feet of renovated building space has as its signature element a new exterior curtain wall creating a stirring montage of environmental colors. These colors represent shades of the changing sky colors from clear blue to cloud enhancements to the coral sunset colors. A large inside and outside atrium allows for enjoyable restaurant type seating reminiscent of the sidewalk café ambiance found in numerous pedestrian oriented cities.
